Cornix is built for crypto and exchanges. If you trade forex, gold or indices on MetaTrader, your problem is a different one — and so is the tool.
If you arrived looking for a Cornix alternative, one of two things has probably happened: you trade forex on MetaTrader and Cornix does not fit because it is built around crypto exchanges, or you are not comfortable handing API keys to a third party.
This article is not about Cornix being bad. It is a solid, well-known product in its field. It is about its field being a different one, and about what exactly changes when the copier lives inside your MetaTrader instead of connecting to an exchange.
The underlying difference: where the order is executed
Cornix connects to crypto exchanges — Binance, Bybit and the rest — through API keys you generate and hand over. That key is what lets it trade on your behalf.
A MetaTrader copier does something structurally different: it installs inside your own terminal, the one you already have open with your usual broker. It logs in nowhere, because it is already inside. The practical consequence is that there is no credential to hand over — no broker password, no API key.
If you trade crypto on an exchange, the first architecture is the natural one. If you trade forex, gold, indices or oil with a MetaTrader broker, the second is the only one that makes sense.
What changes day to day
The market. Forex signal channels write in a different format from crypto ones: pairs like XAUUSD or GBPJPY, stops in pips, and often several targets with partial closes. A tool built for "BUY BTC, TP1 TP2 TP3" has to translate; one built for MetaTrader already speaks that language.
Instrument names. Every MetaTrader broker names gold its own way — XAUUSD, XAUUSDm, GOLD, XAUUSD.a — and it is the single most common reason a trade does not open. In the exchange world the symbol is standard; in MetaTrader it is not, which is why a serious MetaTrader copier has to resolve it on its own instead of asking you to configure it.
The loss limit. This is the difference that matters most and gets discussed least. On a leveraged broker account, a channel firing twenty signals in a volatile morning can do damage that a spot exchange would not. The loss cap — and above all the per-channel cap, not just the global one — stops being a convenience and becomes the mechanism that decides whether you still have an account.
What happens when the terminal is off. This is the honest trade-off of the MetaTrader architecture: because the order executes inside your terminal, that terminal has to be open. A copier connected to an exchange does not depend on that. If you trade from your phone and never switch on a computer, it is a real factor.
What to check when comparing, whatever the tool
Five questions that separate a copier that lasts from one that breaks in the first month:
- Does it depend on the message format? If it works with the sample format and fails with your channel's, the problem will come back every time the provider changes how they write.
- What does it do with the messages that follow? "Close half", "move the stop", "TP2 hit". That is where you either keep the gain or lose it, and it is where most tools fail — some go as far as opening a new trade when they read an informational note.
- Does it have a loss cap that actually brakes? Not an alert: a brake that stops opening.
- Can you test a channel without risking money? A simulation mode on real prices saves you learning with real money that the channel was not what it promised.
- Does it ask for credentials? An API key with trading permissions, or the broker password, are things worth understanding before handing over.
In short
It is not a question of which is better: it is which market you trade. Cornix lives on the crypto exchanges and is a serious option there. If your trading is on MetaTrader — forex, metals, indices — the tool has to live where your account lives.
And verify any tool's current features before deciding, this one included: products change, and a comparison written six months ago ages fast.
