Gold is what signal channels post most, and it's also where copying by hand goes wrong most: it moves fast, every broker names it differently and the lot size is misleading.

If you follow signal channels, chances are half of what they post is gold (XAUUSD). It's the channels' favourite instrument because it moves a lot and moves fast. That same reason makes it the place where copying signals by hand goes wrong most. Here's what makes gold different, which gold signals can be copied, and how to copy them to MetaTrader 5 without the three classic mistakes.
Why gold is different from a forex pair
It moves fast
Gold can travel 10 or 20 dollars in a few minutes. If you see the signal late, open MetaTrader, find the symbol and type the stop and targets, the price is no longer the signal's price. Copying gold late isn't a detail: it changes the result of the trade.
Every broker names it differently
One broker calls it XAUUSD, another XAUUSDm, XAUUSD.a or simply GOLD. The channel posts one name and your MetaTrader may use another. Copying by hand you sort it out yourself; with a copier that doesn't recognise it, the order just doesn't go in.
KoreSignal recognises the name your broker uses automatically. If it can't tell for sure which one it is, it doesn't trade and tells you why, instead of guessing.
The lot size is misleading
At most brokers, 1 lot of gold is 100 ounces. That means at 0.01 lots every dollar gold moves is roughly 1 dollar of profit or loss. An 8-dollar stop at 0.10 lots is already about 80 dollars at risk, on a single trade. That's why the lot should never come from the channel's message ("strong entry", "full load") but from your rule. We explain it in risk per trade vs fixed lot.
Which gold signals can be copied
A copyable gold signal is text with clear levels:
XAUUSD BUY 4330 · SL 4322 · TP1 4338 · TP2 4348
It has a direction, an entry, a stop and targets. That can be executed the same way every time.
What can't be copied automatically: chart screenshots, voice notes, and messages like "gold is going up today" with no levels. That isn't a limitation of one particular tool: without levels there is no trade to execute. If your channel posts mostly like that, read how to spot fake signal channels before going further.
When the signal has several targets (TP1, TP2, TP3), the lot is split between them. With very small lots there may not be enough for every part; see partial close at TP1, TP2 and TP3.
How to copy gold signals to MT5, step by step
- Test the channel in simulation. The free trial lasts 7 days, with up to 5 channels you already follow, in simulation with real prices: no card, no broker and nothing to install. You see what the channel's gold signals would have done before risking money.
- Set your rules per channel. Fixed lot or risk per trade, a daily loss limit for that channel, and if you want, metals only, buys only or sells only, or only certain hours.
- Check the management. Gold channels usually follow up with "move stop to entry", "close half" or "close all". KoreSignal reads those messages and applies them to the right trade.
- Go live when the numbers justify it. Connecting MetaTrader (demo or live) requires a membership. You choose how to connect it: in KoreSignal's cloud, with no VPS, no computer left on and nothing to install, or with the EA in your own MetaTrader, which has to stay open on a computer that stays on or on your VPS. Installing the EA is covered in the MetaTrader installation guide.
The full process, for any instrument, is in how to copy Telegram signals to MetaTrader, and everything the copier does is on the Telegram signal copier page.
Three classic mistakes with gold signals
- Using the same lot as on forex. 0.10 lots on EURUSD and 0.10 lots on gold don't risk the same. Use risk per trade or a fixed lot sized for gold.
- Copying by hand, and late. On gold, a few minutes' delay already gives you a worse entry than the channel's, and the channel's result stops being yours.
- Not putting a limit on the channel. Gold channels have streaks. A daily loss limit per channel keeps one bad day on one channel from taking the account.
Before you start
Copying signals doesn't turn a bad channel into a good one: it just executes it faster and with your rules. Gold can jump your stop in sharp moves. Test every channel in simulation, start with a small lot and give it a loss limit. Trading carries risk of loss and no system removes it.
